If you need to update your phone number for 2-step verification, follow these steps:

  • Access your SFBU email account as usual. If you're unable to log in using 2-step verification, please contact SFBU AskIT for a one-time access code.

2. Navigate to Google Account Settings

  • Click on your profile picture in the top-right corner and select "Manage your Google account."

3. Go to the Security Settings

  • On the new page, click on "Security" in the left-hand navigation, then scroll down and select "2-Step Verification."

4. Re-verify Your Account

  • You will be prompted to enter your email password to proceed. Type in your password to continue.

5. Choose Verification Method with Your Previous Phone Number

  • On the 2-step verification page, choose your previous phone number to receive the verification code.

6. Update Your Phone Number

  • After receiving the verification code, update your phone number by clicking on "Add new phone number" and then "Next."

7. Verify Your New Phone Number

  • You will receive a verification code on your new phone number. Enter the code and click "Verify."

8. Complete the Update

  • Once the new phone number is verified, it will be set as the default for 2-step verification. You can now use your new phone number for future logins.
