Purpose: Explain what Zoom AI Companion is and how to use it in meetings
What is Zoom AI Companion?
Zoom AI Companion is Zoom’s built-in AI assistant that can help with meeting summaries, action items, and (depending on settings) in-meeting questions and chat support.
What you can use it for:
Meeting Summary: Automatic summary after a meeting
Action Items / Next Steps: Highlight tasks and follow-ups
Smart Recording Highlights (if enabled): Key moments from recording
How to enable AI Companion in a meeting (Host)
Start your Zoom meeting.
On the meeting toolbar, select AI Companion (or AI).
Turn on Meeting Summary (and any other allowed options).
Participants may see a notice when AI features are enabled.
How to view the Meeting Summary
After the meeting ends, open the Zoom web portal (or your Zoom client, depending on your setup).
Go to Meetings (or Meeting Summaries / AI Companion) and select the meeting.
View the summary and action items.
Good practices
Announce AI summary is enabled at the start of a meeting.
Avoid sharing sensitive personal data in meetings where AI features are enabled.
For confidential meetings, consider leaving AI features off.
